Dark gold, with notes of burned orange peel, cardamon, clove, marmalade, med. sweet, rich and broad but still complex and not gooey, much of the sweetness has dropped out, long and intriguing. At Lotus of Siam in Vegas w/A, D, A. Great pairing for sure.

Same color as my General Tso's Chicken (similar to a spicy orange chicken), low nose for gewurz, but in the mouth, full of burnt toffee, slight nuttiness, some slight bitter herbs-root notes, not much else. Quite sweet, on the verge of being a true desert wine. The sugar and age really seemed to mask the Gewurz character. Went OK with the slightly sweet, and very spicy chicken, but still would have prefered a drier wine, with more spice character. This was in good shape, fun, interesting, but not that complex. I would choose a creme brulee next time to go with.

Mostly Napa Cabernet Dinner (Eddie V's - Tysons Corner, VA): Perfectly mature expressive nose displaying slightly dry yellow and red fruit, apricot, dry apricot, peach, orange peel, red tea, burnt sugar, honey, sweet spices and mineral. Fully integrated palate, very finely layered concentrated sweet yellow fruit, silky and weightless, medium acidity and a long sweet dry yellow fruit driven finish with burnt sugar and tea at the end. This is a very youthful bottle. I thought it was a bit hot when I had in 2012. Excellent showing and I am not a big fan of Gewurztraminer.

End of the night, so just a short note. Honeysuckle, tropical fruits, great balance, thought it was very good.
