  This wine is definintely meant for food. By itself it lacks 'pop'. Dark in color it evokes more earth or perhaps just an absence of fruit aromas or tastes. Medium tannin just does not stand up (for my palate at least) with the Novys, Carlisles or other great Sonoma County Syrah offerrings.
