Reduction makes it hard to assess initially, but will loads of time in glass and patience others in the room tonight did not have, showed tremendous breed and depth. Still painfully young, but all the stuffing is there to be excellent. Don't touch for at least a year.

La Fête de La Paulée: Rich and hugely reductive nose. The palate is dense and full of primary, ripe orchard fruit with a ton of matchstick. Painfully young and tough to appreciate beyond its scale and density.

Double decanted 10 hours earlier and returned to the bottle. 10 hours later it was still a touch reductive. On the palate...wow. All class. So pure and elegant with impeccable balance. Spectacular.

Only sublime. I no longer concern myself with whether or not wines such as this are drunk too young. I'd like to taste it 15+ years from now, but I'll be dead. It's marvelous to experience the rich texture of a top dog wine just opening its eyes. I liken it to a negative edge pool where there are no seams and everything extends into the horizon endlessly. There is a nervousness of tension in the mouthfeel. Holding it in your mouth releases layers of interest as the wine warms. Long, complex finish. Not as perfect as the 2012. So fortunate to know that, and to God-like reduce the score by a point for it. Somewhere, some wine is likely better. The search is its own reward.

La Fête de La Paulée in Chicago (Formento's - Chicago IL): Intensely reduced and tough to assess. Clearly showing great concentration and 94+ point potential, but no time soon.
