My first Willamette Syrah, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s reminiscent of Walla Walla Syrah with some Northern Rhône influences—white pepper, dark cherry, and just a hint of baking spices. There was some VA on the nose at opening, so I’d be curious to see if that goes away with age. It’s certainly a cool climate wine though. Fun .14 hectare experiment from one of my favorite Pinot producers in Oregon.

Interesting. Light at first and tart. With time in the glass and air it put on some weight and more flavors developed. Enjoyable but different.
