Hooray, finally the tannins have receded, leaving a decent CB with quite bright red cherries and blackberry, a very agreeable midweek drink. Sadly, however, this is not a patch on former glories such as the 2000 and I even prefer the 2006. Could and should have been better.

On the decline for sure, still dark in color, aromas of dead leaves, very earthy, tar, ashphalt, short to medium length finish. Was expecting more from this cru bourgeois superieur.

Fully resolved. This bristles with energy and shows subtle black fruits with a little tannic attitude. Lovely balance. A deferential yet confident Claret.

30 minutes open in the bottle. Dark cherry, tar, and a little barnyard on the nose. Not a ton of flavor and a little bitterness. Easy to drink and more Napa like than French. Medium finish. For £19 it was very nice, although the nose is a big tease.

Brambly fruit, after a while, but still tannic and with a typical 2005 underlying power that I didn't enjoy much.
