A tiny bit past its peak, the Wy’east is still drinking well but won’t hold very much longer: time to drink up. The wine is light in color with a slightly tawny rim. On the nose, ripe plumcots and hints of cola, very rounded, smooth palate, sweet finish is medium length. Rather low acidity for a Sineann PN: it must have been a vintage where somehow the fruit ripened very quickly at the last moment.

Having read these previous notes on this Pinot which also indicated a prior drinking window ending in 2019 , I was not expecting too much here in the fall of 2021. So was pleasantly surprised with tonight’s showing . On opening the bouquet showed nice florals and violet. The first sip was short and dull but after a half hour in the decanter has blossomed nicely revealing cinnamon spice and cola flavors with a seamless medium length finish. Most likely at its peek and can hold up another year or two . Drink up.

Don't drink this wine now. On day one, it was tight and shy, giving up light notes of pie cherry and pine. On day two, this had fleshed out only a bit, but was showing a green edge to red fruits and a slight bitterness. This is Columbia Gorge fruit, so that could have something to do with the unique profile, but I'm keeping hands off for another year at least.

Light even for a PN, a little sulphur taste immediately after opening at first but dissipates quickly. Went well with a good seasoned pork loin.

I was surprised with this... Had anticipated something over the top and got a smooth, gently spicy, still somewhat reticent mouthful
Still early, so not fully developed, but the controlled acidity suggests that this can earn another couple of points over the next 12-24 months
