A year on from the last bottle tasted, this is really very attractive. Lemon, peach with subtle toffee and butter, offset by well-balanced but persistent acidity. A wine that improves with modest ageing. I've just ordered some of the 2015 vintage. Excellent value.

I stand by my previous notes, although the initial nose and palate now show tropical notes (pineapple, mango) and less of the 'soapy' character I detected earlier. Very nice wine and very good value.

4h after opening: fatty acids (soap) on the nose and palate but the palate showed lemon with fragrant honeyed notes developing in the glass. Better as it warmed and opened - it then showed lime with the honey (almost 'sweet and sour') and was really rather nice. It was an excellent accompaniment to a melange of fish in a cream sauce. After food, it was rich and round. Best opened early and not served too cold. This is a slightly simpler, but very inexpensive, alternative to the Concha y Toro Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay.

Alcohol is a little too noticeable but, that apart, this is totally serviceable chardonnay for the money (£7).
