  • You can't be a Michigan winery without offering a Cabernet Franc. For some very good reason, this varietal produces authentic wines in most of Michigan's wine producing areas. These Cabernet Franc's are generally lighter in style and definitely more delicate than those from most other areas. They often show a vegetal, green pepper, leather and wet graphite nose, and this one is no exception. The color moderate dark red but no where near opaque. Black pepper with the vegetative nose. Medium bodied with with nicely concentrated fruit that starts out with rich blueberry pie, but mostly consists of the red fruits. They are wisely using Hungarian oak that compliments and accentuates the peppery spicy aspects of the fruit. Superb balance. Some menthol and mint with the graphite and fruit on the finish.
