  • Hmmm, this wine leaves me with a lot of question marks. It flows in the glass (large burgundy glass) in a slightly watery crimson colour. Upon swinging the glass, it leaves long lasting cords. The nose is expressive: LOTS of stony earth, a bit of smoky bacon and charcoal and not much fruit, if at all a little rasperry. The nose reminded me more of a Lemberger (Blaufränkisch), but I once had a very similar nose in a Blaufränkisch/Pinot Noir cuvée by the Austrian producer Markowitsch. On the palate, this varies a lot. Some sips are nice with a good acidity kick, some are somewhat hollow. Quite seriously, I don't understand this wine.
