  • SMD at New Ubin Seafood (New Ubin Seafood, Lam Soon Building): Pretty decent, and certainly quite interesting. The nose has the aromatics of sweet wine - honey and beeswax, a drizzle of treacle, dried fruits like kumquats and apricots, all with a hint of an oxidative edge to them. The palate gave an impression of sweetness in its stone fruit and honey flavours on the attack as well, but this was actualy bone-dry, with plenty of citrus acidity and a minerally spine leading into a lean finish with lots of warm spice and a little linger of honey. This may have been better a few years back. It felt like it was just beginning to come apart at the seams. Still a fairly decent drink though.
