similar to previous taste a few months ago, but feeling a little more bullish on remaining shelf life. My last bottle, but could go for another year or two. Dark berries still going strong and a bit more mellow overall.

I found this bordeaux blend to be quite approachable, with a nose of cassis and dark cherries, a soft palate with a nice balance of acidity and tannic appeal. It was wonderful with a spicy steak dish, but afterward lost a bit of interest with the quaffers. At or near EOL, so drink up now...

This wine always fools me into thinking it is going to disappoint me, as it really needs some aeration to fully be appreciated. Notes of heavy earth, loam and soot upon opening. Then it blossoms to a nicely fruity, fully expressed berry, chocolate and spicy wine. I wouldn't say it's the smoothest wine out there, as it's rough on the finish, but peaks fore and mid-palate.
12/24/09, 2/1/2010, 3/7/2010: Seems this has hit its peak and over the hill. Heavy oak even after considerable aeration. Fruit was shy; going, going gone. Consistent notes with last 3 bottles. Give the rest to your non-lawn mowing -nasty neighbor, if you have any left.

Deep red in color. Brambly nose, very rich. Nice tannins. Blackberry and white pepper flavors.
