2015 Romanée Conti Vintage Horizontal: For me and many others this was the WOTN. By a wide margin. Of course, it is the more ready than the reds but it is not just good, it is incredibly good. I had to put the glass a bit farther away to go through all the reds as the intense, alluring aromas filled the room. Intensity, precision, elegance all at 300%. Probably the best white wine I had so far.
TN: A 101 point nose that lures you in. Three+ weeks have passed since the tasting, but I still can smell it so clear. Popcorn, toast, graphite, citrus, burnt brown sugar, caramel. So intense, full and with an unmatched precision. Same intense aromas on the palate with some additional aromas such as green apple, peach, quince, tropical fruits, citrus, wet stone. Highly complex, laser focus and precision, perfectly integrated acidity, creamy, oily, mouthcoating and at the same time absolutely fresh and weightless. A never ending honeyed citrus driven finish. 101 points on the nose, 98.5 for the palate, 99 for the finish.
Decanting: Got 45+ minutes of air in the glass. Good from the get-go and over the next three hours. Didn‘t move an inch. This wine has the freshness to have a long life and become more amazing with additional aroma layers. Or does anyone know if DRC has premox problems?

Dégustation Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Verticale 2015, avec Déjeuner (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): Rich and unctuous apple, baked apple with peach and toasted baguette hints. Also quite complete already, this is fleshy but so well balanced. Certainly opulent, but with enough restraint to retain that balance. Texturally brighter middle and finish than I expected from the aromatic ripeness. Very good weight and length.

Painfully intense palate, viscous texture. Delicate citrus aromatics. This needs plenty of air. (1448/2579)
