Ruby colour with tawny edges. Intense nose with spices(nutmeg) , black tea, ripe fruit and herbs. The palate is full bodied with huge tannins ( aggressive) and acidity which balances well . Fruit jams , spices and vanilla from oak. I would recommend to age it for 3 years more to get more finess and tannins to become a bit softer.

Very interesting to taste - as advised by cellar door assistant, the palate is quite different from what one expects based on the nose. Nose: almost like a quite-ripe pinot noir crossed with gamay. On the palate, very firm tannins and mid to high acidity, mid+bodied.
Looks a good cellaring prospect, and would be excellent over a meal with meats.
Hope more mavrotragano gets planted in Santorini, the world needs more traditional varietals instead of oceans of cab sauv / syrah / tempranillo / merlot.

Too aggressive tannins. Not very interesting with subtle aromas. Maybe needs a little bit more aging.
