Burnt toffee, almond paste on the nose. A heavy body with tones of almond extract. A considerable acidity would make me wait a long time befit opening another one - maybe 5, even 10 years?

A week in Tuscany (and Lots of wines); 10/19/2015-10/21/2015 (Tuscany, Italy): We all found this disappointing and not up to the levels of the other wines served. Iced tea in color. The nose is oxidized with vanilla and port-like alcohol. On the palate, like slightly bitter tea. Its drinkable but not great. Perhaps this was an off bottle, perhaps not. At this point, it was not worth drinking though. There are so few good Vin Santo's.
