AP 5. This has clear and bright yellow apple fruit on the nose, but not much else. The palate is also very direct and clear in its flavors, moderate sweetness, and lively acidity, especially for the vintage. This feels pretty unevolved still, but also just not very complex. It's a pleasure to drink, to be sure. But it's just fairly simple, at least right now.

Not a great deal on the nose when opened, maybe masked by a bit of cork taint. First taste was bizarrely somewhat 'earthy' too but soon settled down in glass, with classic Riesling nose. Gentle honeyed sweetness on palate giving way to some acidity on finish.
This is a very enjoyable sipping wine, quite subtle. Not sure how much longer it will last? This is my last bottle though.

EWG 10 Years On Tasting at Conrad's: Really lovely, pure, silky mouthfeel with candied green apple, light petrol notes, good intensity, barely hitting its stride at 10 years though. Very nice, but lacked a little weight and length compared to the Haag sonnenuhr auction. EWG 10 years on tasting.

Wine Team Dinner - Vintages with a 5 in them (Highbury, Wellington, New Zealand): Lush and honeyed wine with a medium - sweet finish and a rich body. Very mineral and fresh fennel with outstanding focus. Plenty of acid builds definition but currently the wine is still rather primary and will certainly improve with time. Give this 10 more years.

(Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Spatlese) Hugely floral nose with some sweet onion grass, slate, apples and more slate. Incredible aromatic as all of the Haag '05's were. Palate was ripe and a touch austere with lemon peel but that haunting lightness of mouthfeel that Haag is so known for. Classic and beautiful.

A tad riper and rounder than I was hoping for. Still good though. Notes of kiwi, nectarine, and margarita mix. A little flabby on the finish.
