Pale yellow in color with a golden hue. Nose is crisp and pure with pear, apple, tropical fruits, and minerals. Generous flavors of apple and pear with a hint of guava, very bright acidity and racy. A pure, crystalline wine with excellent minerality and very good balance.

Pale straw. Bit of sulfur on opening which blew off after a while. On the nose, minerals, cloves. On the palate, pears and grapefruits. Quite a short finish. 87-88 points

Somewhat hard to evaluate, as it was accompanying very spicy Thai food, but this was balanced and very mineral. Came across as being quite dry and there's not a lot of fruit currently showing, but I think this will really improve with short-term cellaring.

(Schafer-Frohlich Halbtrocken) I cannot put into words how good Tim Frohlich's collection of 2005's are. This is one of his introductory estate wines and it is slamming. Just explodes in your mouth with salty, mineral fruit. Combination of stone fruits and red fruits. Almost tannic but really showcases the ripeness of the vintage and has dazzling purity. Long...long....long. A stunner. These estate and Kabinett '05's are stunning!
