  • Excellent Priorat wine from a small family winery (Harvesting extremely low yields with a very tiny annual production of 4000-6000 bottles). Varietal composition: 40 percent Garnatxa, 40 percent Carinyena completed with little parts of Syrah and Merlot. The wine was aged for 16 months in new French oak barriques (Allier). Decanting time: four hours. Just starting to enter its drinking window, with an intense, deep red color and a compelling, Carinyena dominated bouquet of black berries, tar, incense, licorice and a hint of menthol. Impressive, well-balanced palate, with lovely concentrated fruit elements, fine integrated oak and crisp, but already quite elegant tannins. Superb finish. Very promising wine, with a great future. Drink it now through 2016.

Prachtige nasmaak. Veelbelovend; gaat een mooie toekomst tegemoet. Te drinken: nu tot in 2016.

  • A lot of fruit: ripe blackberries, blueberries. Spices like thyme. Little lead pencil as well. Good acidity and soft tannin. Quite much sweetness. In fact the 2003 label says 14,5% alcohol, so that might explain the sweetness.
