Bought it at a small wine shop in Cambrils/Spain for 17€ / 20$, the imported prices in Germany are about 23-27€.
I read alot about this wine. It should be the best Verdejo on the market and one of a few big whites in Spain ("In my opinion, this is one of the two greatest dry whites being made in Spain.” - Robert Parker in the Wine Advocate). So I poured it in Spiegelau Authensis Magnum glasses and could not wait to get the first sip - this was deflating. Totally closed. So I decide to decant it for one hour.
After the aeration this wine opens up beautifully! BIG nose of gooseberry and exotic fruits with hints of the 11 month month spending this wine in american and frensh oak. The medium to full bodied palate was impressive as well! A mouthfilling toasty and creamy taste with well integrated oak, again gooseberry and exotic fruits like pineapple, vanilla, hints of honey and a fine acidity merge to a great harmonic wine. The finish lasts over 50 sec!
Still quite young - this wine shows what a Verdejo could be! Drink 2007-2009.

Stone fruit, silky texture, good acidity contributes some zest. A nice summer wine.

Rueda with the posture of Meursault Premier Cru, powerful, spicy oak.
