All the pieces are here but this is pretty shut down at the moment. The fruit is seriously intense but also tightly coiled and unyielding. Enjoyable to drink to be sure sure--the purity and balance are evident--and worth the below-retail price from the list, but it's more of a science experiment at this point. Hold for a decade or better yet two.

Usually picked at end of harvest, thus often 0.5% more alcohol. Intentionally aiming for more powerful, structured wine in tribute to La Tache. Sweetly floral aromatics.

Back to the auctions (Bar Bould Sud): Fruity and peppery and pretty tight. It comes across as one dimensional and by that I mean there isn't a lot of evolution as you drink it. Same wine to start and end. I'd say this is in the category of good burgundy that is priced at a level that is prob more like 5x times what it should be.

Magnum. Better clarity and structure than I remembered, so much spice, still oaky and with great freshness. 93-94

Powerhouse today, needs time to soften and smoothen as the fruit is too forward now.
