This is a classic old world wine with a bit of age on it--stewed fruit and a bit of forrest floor (this wine is bringing out the wine geek in me) on the nose. Once past the lips, the acidity jumps out quickly, reserved yet refined, this is a great wine to have with dinner (and it ain't too bad on its own). Very Good. thedrunkencyclist.com

This wine was popped near the end of the evening and I should have paid a little closer attention (what else is new?). The fruit was certainly there, but understated in a classic old world style. It followed some rather fruity Italian Barberas, so it certainly was a bit shy initially. After a few sips, it showed that this was a more serious wine than its cousins to the south and east. Last of the lot, still an excellent wine that proved to be far above the vintage in general. Started out lean and mean and became a lithe and juicy rendition of this region.

Peak maturity. Bright, maroon with lightening at edge, but no bricking. Red summer fruits, herbs and touch of oak on nose. Sour cherry and herbs and minerals on palate, smooth and elegant.. Very burgundian, reminds me of a beaune premier cru.. Drink now-6 months.

Better 6 months ago. Deep red/brick red. Still lithe and burgundian, but the herbal element now has a slightly bitter finish.
