Friday Night Brown Bagger (J&J's): Double blind. Aromas of pepper and spice support red fruit, earth and just a bit of barnyardy funk. Medium-bodied. Lovely red berry fruit, herb, spice and stone flavors. Good underlying acidity; picks up a subtle floral note with air. Drinking quite nicely at the moment. (R&D)

Cherry, spicy green peppercorns, earth, and palpable heat. Funky and mushroomy on the palate - the fruit is pushed to the background. Savory garrigue and intensely grippy tannins on the finish. Wait at least 5 years to taste again.
