  • Corked! So frustrating to lose a unicorn. I was excited for the bottle. What a shame.

  • This was more than fine, and delivered on my high expectations. Completely reductive, with pear and toasted hazelnut. This had a texture to die for and is approaching what feels like a long plateau. This reminded me most of Ganevat’s vignes de mon Pere. Fabulous with razor clams

  • Pale, almost colourless; penetrating, unrestrained, green olives (as noted below), dry herbs; racy, thrilling tension, untamed & uncompromising; extended finish. This is for the long term. An admirable wine which reinforces the reputation of M. Puffeney. (Currently merits a decant).

  • Smells a bit off at first but definitely came together with a decant. Intriguing aromas of marzipan, hazelnuts, green olives and orange peel. Very lemony and soapy too... there's a sort of waxy, citrusy note reminding me a bit of good German Riesling. The palate has strong, vibrant ringing acidity, almost sour; driving out great length. Vague flavours of stone fruit, cantaloupe and lemon curd, but mostly defined by the strong, juicy acidity. Better with food. Match with anything you'd usually match with a Riesling.
