I was afraid this wine was going down the same path as Paleo rosso, in that the fruit was smothered by an overdose of new wood. This is luckily not the case. The trick is to give this a few hours of air, and the wine finds its balance. Black fruits, minerality, intensely flavored. This reminded me in a way of a very firm carignan and was an excellent pairing with steak. A well deserved 91 score

Full and ripe, not completely overdone with wood. Sufficient acidity. Would be very difficult to recognize as cabernet franc in a blind tasting. Ultimately, this lacks some character for me and starts to get a bit boring after a few glasses. So not entirely convinced here

Really impressive wine: nose shows fireplace smoke, Clubman talc, golden raisins, briary wild black fruit, complex ham saltiness. Deep, long, structured, beautifully balanced acidity and tannin, long syrupy currant and rosemary finish, a hint of green wood, one of the best Italian cab francs Ive tasted. Still young, peak perhaps in 4-5 years, should drink beautifully for 20. A superb example, best with salumi and truffle cheeses.

Earthy rich and complex. Case worthy.

That is very full on the palate for a Cabernet Franc. Not that that is a bad thing. Lots of structure on the back end.
