This is the second 375ml of 2004 that I have had in the last 6 months. The first had much more age to it and I was not expecting good things when I opened this one. To my surprise, there was hardly any age on this one at all. While the nose was somewhat muted, the fruit was still very present. The tannins have calmed to an almost perfect balance while still holding the wine together very suitably.

Light garnet, no bricking. Crumbly cork but wine is fine. Touch of black licorice on the nose along with plum. Plum and blackberry flavors with fading but not gone tannins. Last one and agree time to drink up

I would consume this one sooner rather than later. Lots of secondary notes and not a ton of fruit.

Awesome wine with life left. Dark fruits still evident and tannins left to carry it for a few more years or more. Great with filets and mock frites from NYT cooking
