My first charbono- bought on the secondary market for $15... and wow! Opened up a bit tight, but improved with just a short decant. This reminded me of a Cali sangiovese, but with more fruit and smoother. Teeth staining dark purple - one of the darkest varietals I have seen. Luscious fruit, black fruit, cocoa, mouth coating silky tannins, rich. Not complex but I just dont care -- what it offers is so good. Paired very well with meatballs in a red sauce, but very good on it's own too. 91/92

Very nice. Light on its feet with subtle dark flavors. Paired extremely well with bolognese sauce

Gorgeous and complex. Mouthfilling and graphite textured.
