  • Bottle brought down to TN vacation. Stunningly serene and tamed yet with great flavor. Usually smooth whiskies can result in a linear or nothing special taste profile, not here. Not uber complex, but the marriage of these 2 aspects is rarely done so well.

  • Harmony is actually the best one word to describe this whiskey. Frighen' delicious throughout an entire double over 5 hours with ice to start then completely watered down at the end. Try to stay away from using such, but balance is the 2nd best word to describe. The flavors are so intertwined yet distinguishable, coming at you in the most harmonious way from sip to long finish with each one popping up here and there and simultaneously in an ever pleasing way. The aftertaste leaves you satisfied for minutes after a sip. If tasted blind, would immediately guess made in Scotland as it is up there with the best of 'em. Kudos to Suntory, still hard to fathom this is made in Japan, masterful.

  • Floral notes with lychee, a hint of rosemary and sandalwood. Sweet and fruity taste with candied orange peel, white chocolate and honey. Long-lasting finish with soft notes of Japanese oak.

An excellent go-to Japanese Whisky. Fair value for what you get. Beautiful bottle containing some liquid delight. I find Japanese Whisky to be somewhat 'refreshing' and light on the tongue with a mild belly burn and a long finish. There is a fruity crispness that exudes throughout the glass. Very well structured with lots of finesse. This is a bottle that needs a home in everyone's bar.

    Smoked a RASS.
