I echo the tasting notes below. Quite similar to the 2011 riserva, maybe a little less fruit and I liked the 2011 riserva more. But still, really good!

I drank this bottle once again in the winery (yes, the producer still has it in store after few years from the release). And I found it improved from the last time I had it. Nice deep ruby color with garnet shades, at the nose plum, red fruits and leather, on the palate it's juicy and complex, with a great balance of tannins and acidity with just the right body. The finish is quite long. Aged in very (very!) old chestnut big barrels, it is in practice a Chianti Classico Riserva without being labeled as one. Buy, and drink!
