Will continue to improve over the years but surprisingly accessible, both aromatically and in the flavors. Could have been enjoyed pop and pour with food, at its most fresh and direct, but I slow-oxed 3-4 hours. Spice, cinnamon up front, some loamy complexity in the background, a little clenched but still expressive with a nice peak in the middle, tannins not overly prominent. At the end of the slow-ox it had become both more balanced but also tightened, with more vegtetal flavor. An hour in the decanter fixes this right up, putting on weight but with the ripe black fruit becoming more prominent. Not a great wine but quite satisfying, and like Al says I am hoping for more complexity and nuance to return as it gets to a proper age. This was a real bargain up to just a year or two ago.

This is really open and enjoyable. All strawberries and higher tone florals, grass....ready from the get go. Intensity and complexity lacking for its level. But prices are fair

Clos Vougeot (The Center) Tasting (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): In 14/08/07 flight. Opened 3 hours earlier with a brief decant. Fun black and red cherry with good density and faint spice. Lacking the complexity I recall from when younger, I think this is in an awkward phase right now. 91 points tonight, but certainly further upside.

Clos Vougeot - Clos Center Tasting (Chicago, IL): 14/08/07. Open for business with youthful fruit that shows some herbal, stem and spice complexity in the nose. Palate is primary though filled with exciting spice. Good concentration and structure to age. Fun and tasty with upside as it gains nuance and depth.

During the La Paulee in Meursault, so only brief impressions. A bit timid in the nose, good but with some green elements. Medium complexity.
