Not bad considering. This wine was youthful despite being a base bottling at the outside of its recommended drinking window. Oaky, not a lot of fruit, but at $10... Needed some air time to get to its best.

Quite nice; much better than I was expecting. Attractive Southern French type Syrah fruit: ripe & brambly but not too much so; plus some cherry and flinty/gunpowdery underbrush. Oak is pretty evident but not bad. A good wine for $10-12.

Pinotage gives it the chewey tannins to me. I can almost taste the skins; but not offensive. Nice everyday wine.
