A bit of fading and bricking around the rim, strong legs. After 2 hours open and decanted, bright red fruit, more cranberry and pomegranate, a silky texture, just a light touch of tannin , juicy and fresh, cherry fruit but with a savoury, earthy side to it, really long and a wave of acidity which brings out some blood orange and is really delicious, old world and new world in harmony

Drinking well now as all Herzog wines are released when considered ready to drink but his one has a few years ahead of it 10/11

Taste of New Zealand - 2017: Strawberry, raspberry, cherry cola - quite sweet and lifted nose. The sweetness shows on the palate as well, there is no lack of ripeness here. There is some fine tannin that helps prop things up and give it decent balance. Another 5 years might help this really come together.

Give it 2 hours in the decanter. To me it was on par with premier cru Burgundy.
