  Very impressive. Earth and leather in the nose. Color shows a little brown at the edge. Palate is soft with a bit of spice. At its peak. Drink through 2022.

  Luminous, translucent cherry red color with a deeper ruby core and a pale brick-orange rim. Big, somewhat sweet-toned and slightly evolved nose with aromas that immediately take me to Italy. Aromas of ripe black cherries and sour cherries, some sweet blackcurrant, a little bit of something meaty, light wizened red fruits, savory hints of pipe tobacco, leather and sun-baked earth and a touch of savory wood spice. With some air the nose starts to develop some raisiny tones. The wine is ripe, somewhat sweet-toned and silky on the palate with a rather full body and moderately evolved flavors of sweet plummy fruit, some dried dates and wizened damsons, a little bit of cherry pits, light leathery tones and an umami hint of Prosciutto. The structure relies more on the balanced, moderately high acidity than on the gentle, easy and very ripe tannins. The finish is slightly more grippy with juicy, medium-long flavors of dark fruits, some wizened figs, a little bit of cherry pit, light leathery tones and a hint of savory wood spice.
  
  A nice, evolved and harmonious wine. Not super complex, but nevertheless a tasty, balanced and enjoyably developed effort. It feels like the wine is peaking now - at least the structure really doesn't call for any further aging and the fruit department feels quite evolved as well. As for the guess what the wine was, I have no idea why I thought this was an evolved Right-Bank Bordeaux with 20+ years of age, because the wine was so full of cherry tones and even the nose made me think of Italy from the get-go! Nevertheless, I got it wrong. Silly me.

  A very nice, economical BdM. Plum, dark cherry, leather and a little earthy. Good on day one but so much better on day 2. Maybe not as complex as other more expensive Brunello's, but I think its confident in being itself. Glad I bought several.
