I have had a slew of 91s and 92s and this was the best by far. When opened I guessed it would be dead - the dreaded wet, turning cork that came right out. This was classic high end Rhone Syrah, complete beastly elements of aged meat, sweat, etc, in a clean package. Grabbed everyone's attention. Certainly strutting its hillside origins. Completely different bottle than the last 91, more advanced and to me more enjoyable.

From a poorly kept bottle, seepage. Very solid, in a clean style, like a lesser Hermitage, quite enjoyable, good structure, not in any way over the hill.

Seattle Burgundy Group Tasting #4 (Cordon Selections): Demonstrative cofee/toffee-ridden aromas and flavors. Not roasted particularly, and certainly not tired, but quite well-developed. Dramatic fruit, wine.
