This plain Chianti (not even a Classico), the last of our 4 bottles, once again asserted itself well. No bricking on the edges, but this last bottle was the softest of the 4, which have been consumed over 2 years. Still with good fruit, and distinctive leather and licorice, along with good acidity. Was very good with our pizza.

Softer yet, with bright sour cherries and acidity. Continues to be a nice pairing with spicy Italian fare, but this is no ager and is on its downward slope.

This was softer than when last experienced; more fruit forward and with mild tannins. The overall character was of sour dark cherries with touches of licorice, leather and tar on the finish. Was a good match for spicy rigatoni and sausage.

Aromas and flavors of dried cherries and cranberries. A solid wine with a good finish. ($13)

Bright cherry fruit and ideal food-friendly acidity. A bit rustic, but that's what I expected. Overall a nice little budget bottle
