Bold notes of black pepper and baking spice meld with blackberry, Maraschino cherry, and violets on the nose. The palate is rustic and structured; a welcoming entry of fresh fruit and roundness, quickly transitions into a wave of fine-knit, sticky, tacky tannins. The finish is drying, with lingering notes of mulling spice and dried blackberry

Among the most impressive New World Tempranillo wines that I have crossed paths with. Spring flowers, tangy and plush red fruits, luxurious mouthfeel, serious acid, dusty tannins, quality finish.

4 Impressive from a rare planting of this varietal in the Eola-Amity AVA. Concentrated blackberry and dark cherry aromas with a spice-quality separate, but connected to the typical baking spice aromatics of the AVA's Pinot Noirs. A wonderful, medium-plus body greets the palate with coating, sandy tannins. The finish provides concentrated, even dried black fruits. Varietally true from a cool-climate region that managed to add some heat units this vintage. Excellent.
