Been about 4 years since my last taste of this one. Big 2nd night wine provided by the DQ....decanted for 2 hours then enjoyed over 2 more. I thought it drank better the first hour. Dark in the glass, nose of great cinnamon and juicy mulberries. Even a little sweet 'grapey' component in the early going. The palate reflects soft red/dark red fruit, maybe raspberry? Initially a tad hot on the back end, this calmed down later and was replaced by a little astringency on the back end as the bottle was finished, along with some significant muting of the great cinnamon/mulberry nose taking place as well. I preferred the first hour of this one and it nosed out all the other 94 point wines tonight with a 95 as WOTN for me.

Deer Valley Palooza in 3 stages with Mark1npt and Agelvis; 6/25/2023-7/1/2023 (8,100 ft): First wine with Mark and Carol and WOTN for me alongside some really nice wines. Decanted 3+ hours. Great nose full of dark fruits and florals. On the palate dark plummy fruits and spices cinnamon and apparently mulberry. Tannins were smooth and the acid brought some juiciness to the fruit. A little hot and astringent on the finish but I noticed this less as the night went on :-) Much better than my bottle 2 years ago

Lovely wine. Soft, rounded tannins. Dark black fruit flavors. Medium+ finish. Nicely aromatic. This wine is aging beautifully.

Very smooth and integrated tannins. Fruit forward on the open. Should be lovely in a hour or three.

Lovely leathery nose. Very well balanced with nice chalky fruit, not too extracted, and moderate acid and tannins on the finish. Drinking great now.
