  • I really enjoyed this bottle. Started off a bit rough, funky, balsamic. Then this went away after a few hours of air.
Aromas showing graphite, cherries, dried berries, some mustiness. Also some herbs, and leather.
Flavours of dark cherry, dried berry, on the sweet berry spectrum but then getting cranberry bitterness. An earthiness with some sage/herbs tossed in, and a nice minerality. Picking up leather on the finish. Longish length to the finish. Sweet berries on the finish with some bitterness blended in ... a good mix. Savoury overall. Medium acidity helps keep everything wrapped up nicely. Dusty smooth tannins, just there in the background.

  • After reading all the reviews I was disappointed in this wine. Maybe it's past it's prime. Not much fruit, more musty savouriness. Something about the flavour made me think of medicine (not sickly-sweet, but tonic-like). Not sure if it was just me, I'll see how my other bottle goes.

  • Spring flowers, graphite, espresso coffee grounds, saddle leather, musty red fruit are some of the aromas wafting from the glass.

In the mouth, there is plenty of sweet red and dark cherry fruit backed by lots of dusty earth, tobacco, and garden herb flavors. There is enough acidity to keep the fruit fresh and not cloying. The finish is medium long showing more red cherry fruit along with cranberry.
Overall, very nice wine, although I would have guessed Tuscan based on the dusty/earthy red fruit. In seems to be in a great drinking spot right now with a short decant. Not sure I would hold for more than another 3-5 years.

  • Nice cherry fruit, smooth tannins, Italian herbs, very savory and a long finish. I like the minerality too.

  • This was lovely. A friend shared after it had been open two days, and it was singing. Bright and juicy, smooth tannins, lots of herbs and spices, and mushroom, brothy elements. Very pretty.
