  • This is a special wine that a lot of people would have trouble categorizing, me included. But generally speaking, I loved it, as I do almost all wines by Quintarelli (even though, of course, he no longer makes the wines). The color shows as a bright ruby red, slightly on the lighter side. But the paler shade does not mean it’s not bursting with flavors. Initial nose is all cherry, strawberry, red currant, generally very fresh. But the palate is what really throws you off: wonderful deep notes of tobacco, dark chocolate, espresso. Completely different than what I’d expect given the age and nose (how do they do it?). The palate carries on a firm structure with still bright acidity with the earthy palate evolving into a wonderful 20 second finale. Tremendous value for the money and a great entry level wine for those who perhaps think their Amarone’s are a bit too fruity or expensive.

  • Enjoyed the wine with cannelloni. 30-45 min decant with fruit on the nose. Very enjoyable wine.

  • Clear pale garnet; clean medium nose of raspberry, soil, strawberry, minerality and baking spices; dry; high acidity; medium tannins; medium plus alcohol; medium body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of black pepper and cocoa; medium plus finish; drink now; light, airy, fresh and precise; the best Etna Rosso we’ve ever had :)

  • Drank from a magnum that was decanted a few hours. Certainly a leafy element here but beyond that just pure strawberry. Not complex but easy to like. It reminds me of a well made “natural wine”.
