  • Somewhat oxidized. Dark gold in color and a bit of grilled pineapple on the nose. On the palate the fruit is almost undetectable. It is fat. Acid is low to medium. Flavors of agave are distracting. Drinkable but not joyful. This must not have been kept properly.

  • PNP. Color light gold. Nose with lemon curd and pineapples. Swishing shows the acid burden but the richness soothes this, and the finish is thick and lengthy. Sipping shows this to be creamy and soft with just enough acid bite to keep it lively. Really very nice.

  • Gorgeously aromatic dry Riesling. Very Alsatian stylistically. Nose of Meyer lemon. Rich yellow fruited palate. Nice balance to handle all the fruit. Tasty but could've used a little more verve for my taste.

  • Third bottle and three different showings.
Yellow straw color. On the nose this is again not really giving. Even after being decanted, just a bit of pears and apples. Where's the dry botrytis from the first bottle? The pronounced fragrance? It was so expressive on the nose...
Back to tonight, the palate is more loose with some slate, pears, lemons. The finish is extremely long, dry and lasts for minutes. I really don't think this wine is on the down slope but I'm wondering, is the nose ever gonna open up again because this is the drawback right now.

  • Drei Trocken Rieslings (My house): Unfortunately, not a great showing today compared to the one I had back in February.
Pale straw, nose is quite muted with a bit of petrol, apricot. On the palate some citrus.
Then I decided to decant it, it helped just a bit. Bottle variation?
