Opened and poured with aerator. Much improved since last tasting .. could hang on for a few more years in plateau phase with plenty of fruit and soft tannins.

We gave this a 4-hour double decant, which it definitely needed. I don't know that I would have enjoyed this by itself, but it was a great match for our thick ribeye steaks with chimichurri and roasted potatoes.
We found black cherry flavors and aromas, accompanied by nuances of iron, mulberry, cinnamon, and dark tobacco. At this stage, the structure is more prominent than the fruit, although the acid, tannin, and oak are in balance with each other.
I think the wine is perhaps better than reviewed here by others; it just needs more time for the structure to settle down. If I can find the same vintage at the same price as I bought it, I might just acquire some more bottles, as I reckon the QPR quite good at the $32/bottle I paid for them.
