Riesling bash at CHIKO (Chevy Chase, Maryland): Ripe and fun aromas with a plush texture and medium acidity. Like honeyed pears and baked apples topped in some minerals, white tea, and whipped honey. Fun, but came across a bit simple relative to others.

AP 06 16. Really fabulous Kabinett. Light and racey and actually true to style - something rare in a ripe vintage such as 2015. Mineral and stone bolstered by great acidity which really backs up the fruit. I get the impression it's a bit evolved and shut down but I didn't have the luxury of trying this upon release. Still quite enjoyable and fresh. Both Thomas and Oliver Haag are doing amazing things in the Mosel and I'm excited to try more!

A Rieslingfeier of our Own; 2/13/2017-2/18/2017 (Traben-Trarbach, Germany): A new vineyard in the stable for Schloss Lieser, this is showing a fair bit of sponti as well as some pineapple gummi bear aromas on the nose. The palate is a bit more floral, but similarly light to the other Kabinetts. This is probably also the softest and most approachable of the three Kabinetts on display today.
