  • A bit of a disappointment tonight. Not too approachable and lacked personality. Lacked the velvety Vosne Romanee charater one craves. Not sure if off bottle, dumb phase or just 2005 not open for business yet. Really hope my other bottles show better.

  • PnP. clear red color, even on purple side. notes of forrest. Less oaky and forestry nose then the 2003 NsG. nice dark fruits. well balanced nose. nice smooth tannines. some acidity left. medium bodied and medium length. very refined.

  • No detailed notes taken. A superb showing with perfect aromatic balance, quite high complexity with dark berries, spices and an earthy minerality at the core, good precision and an elegant structure with a relatively light texture. 2005 can be stubborn and this is certainly not the most feminine wine but still is full of finesse. While it’s open for business, it needs a good, long decant to fully open up. 95/96pts.

Decanting: This needed time to come out of its shell. We PnPed, then followed the wine over a few hours. It got better by the minute. A 2 hours decant seems right at this point.

  • Excellent but I really should have double decanted several hours before our dinner. Ruby red color. Nose of raspberries. Smooth silky taste of cherries and dark fruit.
