Dont remember if I ever had a PN from Sancerre, but after this one I will try to source more. Its fragrant, vibrant and fresh with smoky and leathery notes, pleasantly tart edges, aged for 12 months in oak, 25% new. Medium ruby, garnet hue. Medium+ intensity aroma of cherries, leather, strawberries, earth, smoke, hint of blackcurrants and violets. Medium body, vibrant, tight and pleasantly tart, flavours of underripe red fruits, smoke, leather, floral hints high lively acidity, mellow light velvety tannins.

Really lovely, it was pure joy. I can see myself choosing this over other higher price red burgundies or other top NZ pinot. Not a overly complex wine but the essential element are there .

13% alcohol. Good cork with no wine penetration. Fairly dark colour for pinot noir. The nose is both pure and rich; it evokes dark berries. The mouth is silky, with none of the remnant of rusticity found in Cuvée Maxime. This has the potential to improve further in the next 5 to 10 years. One of my top three red Sancerre; a repeat purchase.
