NobleRottersSydney - North Italy (Fix, St James, Sydney): {cork, 14.5%} [DavidM] Black cherry, roses, violets. Way more evolved than the preceding 2014 wine, but also a better balance of fruit, medium acid, medium chalky tannins. Nicely mature. Right on song for age and style.

Opened an hour prior to drinking with no decant. Elegant earth driven nose with sweet fruit to back. In the mouth this is an earthy Barolo with sweet, kirshy, mid palate fruit that makes it very drinkable now. Really like this wine and will buy more

Opened this way too young, but I actually like really young nebbiolo. This has lots of time ahead of it, so good thing I have several, although I will probably hold one back as birth year bottle for a friend's child. This has everything you hope for in nebbiolo--ethereal and complex aromas of rose, apple blossom, funky tarry smells; weightlessness harnessed to powerful flavors of the above, plus spices; powerful tannins and acids that somehow stay in balance. Those last are going to give this a long life, but in spite of the stated window for drinking below, this is approachable now if you like that kind of thing. If you don't maybe stay away from Barolo, esp from Serralunga? For Barolo, this was a nice value for a village wine, with quite a bit more on offer if given time. Was WOTN

Pnp. Pretty nose, strawberry, licorice, hint of tar. Palate is powerful!. The pretty nose leads to intense, powerful palate. Traditional style with plenty of fruit to balance out the well defined structure. This is showing well right out of the gate. A nice surprise.
