  • Decanted for 40 mins, the cork broke in half when opened. A fairly powerful meaty aroma I usually associate with Syrah with some red fruit peaking through on the nose. The palate is quite meaty with cranberry and minerals. This is a bit one dimensional, not getting the Hvar nuances here, a bit disappointing in fact. At its peak, I don't think this will get better with more time in the cellar.

  • Popped and poured. Nice aged colour to it, browning on the edges. The nose is very elegant, good red berries, the signature lingonberry of Plavac Mali is not very strong here, perhaps tending more to cranberry, also a bit of a meaty aroma. The palate is also very elegant, with resolved tannins, good red berries, again cranberry, good acidity. This is in an excellent spot now, very tasty and also racy with its acidity. Excellent!
