LD Farewell Gathering (Upper West Side): A very steely Puligny - might have guessed Chassagne if blind. Muscle and acidity on this bottle. I had my eye on this sitting in THP's cellar for quite some time as I have not had any 14's from Benoit Ente. A lovely bottle, but perhaps lacking some of the aromatic nuance and fullness of fruit that his brother seems to so often posses.

"Only for Sundays" (Chicago, IL): Some reduction on the nose; not too much. For the vintage with its high acids, this comes across as a bit soft and pliable to me. A white-fruited profile with acids that seem to be shrouded by the rounder style.

Superb. A touch of reduction at first but after 20 mins in the glass it really blossoms. Lovely fruit, mineral seam. Everything is with a light but precise touch. Great now, with room to grow.

Winemaker dinner with Giuseppe Vaira (RPM Steak - Chicago, IL): Clearly reduction that was just still poking out a bit more than I'd like but seemed to be integrating with more and more air. A wine told hold for 3-5 years.
