For those of you still holding on to your bottles of this vintage, it is drinking very nicely now. It didn't make it past the cheese course at this past Saturday's grilled steak dinner. This wine pares very well with Tomme de Savoie. It pared so nicely that both the cheese and the wine disappeared within 15 minutes!!! Well balanced fruit, pepper-- good body.

Nice dark purple in color. Aroma is very berry, especially strawberry. Also some alcohol left to burn off, some smoke too. Fruit bomb – blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry. Medium tannins, but tart. Alcohol present. Buy another bottle and lay down for a couple years.

Medium to full body. Silky mouthfeel, jammy nose of dark fruits. Full and rich right out of the bottle. The flavor structure is a smooth slide onto a solid platform of well-crafted tannins. Really quite nice.

Zaca Mesa Tasting (Gillian's): And I thought the Zcuvee was good!?! This is so much more complete. The nose is exploding with ripe black cherry, berries, and peppery spice. There's more oak on this one too, both nose and palate. Ripe, rich liqueur like black fruits, layered with tannin, oak, and spices. This could probably sit for five or so years to really round out, but it's darn good now!

A very nice Rhine blend. Color as expected. Nose of red fruits. Well balanced on the palate. Lots of riot remains as well some spice and backbone.
