75% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay. 2008 was a fantastic vintage in Champagne so it’s a treat to have vintage-dated champagne from that year. This is really good champagne for the price. We loved it and I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. The key for us was to have it before dinner as an aperitif and with some cheeses. A perfect combination of fruit, acidity and just a little brioche. This was the 3rd of four bottles over 3 years. I can't say it's getting much better, but it's in a great spot.

New Years Day: Vrai Champagne, Third Annual Edition: Another new producer and also a non-vintage version too. The N/V is a solid representative Champagne and the '08 "O" was a nice step upwards in complexity, texture and energy. 91+ to 92pts.

Color: Golden with a slight violet hue Nose: Minerality; Citrus: lemon, lime; Biscuit, yeasty notes Fruit: Toasted biscuit; lemon strong crisp minerality Acidity: High Alcohol: Moderate Body: Light (+) to Moderate (-) Finish: Crisp to the finish with a slight lingering
Remarks: Toasty notes characteristic of lees aging; good overall but a high price point for the quality.
