Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 92.5 points

  • Delicious and interesting. Dry, lemon/lime, mineral, on open somewhat austere. Drank over four days and each day it added new layers of fruit and richer character while maintaining the core noted day 1. Yellow stone fruit, light resin, hints of herb, spice lurking in edge, great length and a terrific presence from start to finish. Time in bottle has helped this, to answer my own tasting note question from 2+ years ago, and if I had more I'd say another couple of years will continue to show better and better. All said and done, great QPR. Wish I had more.

  • Drank over several days. Day 1 somewhat muted notes of green apple, bit of light citrus/lime, bit of yellow stone fruit, mineral. Acid and mineral on palate, with subtle edge (wonder if this echoes the pepper and spice ERIC GUIDO notes?) Developed more depth and richness of fruit days 2 and 3, acid edge softened. While enjoyable I end up with BEERZERBUB on this and suggest inscrutable trending to austere early on and becoming more enjoyable over time. Not sure bottle time will alter it's character.

  • Somewhat austere aroma, along the lines of lime, flowers, epazote, and wet stone; only hints of anything fruitier, maybe underripe stone fruit and boysenberry; develops with air, becoming more expressive and especially more floral along the lines of jasmine. Palate follows suit but with a bit more fruit - dry, tart, lime/grapefruit juicy, on the austere side but tasty/moreish, with assertive stony minerality. Not exactly a friendly wine, but characterful and enjoyable.

  • The bouquet opened with ripe apple, mango, exotic kiwi notes, and it then turned almost savory, showing crushed stone and hints of pepper. It was racy on the palate and beautifully balanced with mid-weight textures, showing spicy green apple and minerals. The finish was long with mineral intensity, which seemed to saturate the senses.
