The flavors lean more pear than peach, apricot and ginger and .... something diesel-esque. Is there Riesling in there? I don’t think so. This is supposed to be 100% Viognier, but Ampelos has blended in Riesling in a few of its past Viogniers. This Viognier also has a distinct flavor of banana on the finish. It’s an off putting finish. The acidity is bright and brings a freshness to the wine. The wine shows balance, but not promise. The fruit is sourced from the Cuatro Vientos, Ampelos, Martian, and Ranch Arroyo Perdido Vineyards. 13.8% alc. 462 cases made. Without any particular foods and over several days. Not Recommended.
