Necessity has led us to seek more extreme value priced Pinot than we would care to admit and this old standby from Australia is a solid under $10 Pinot offering. No reason for exuberance, but just solid, mostly complete, non flawed Pinot. Darker color than typical. Some mild cloves and barnyard with the red and more blue fruit than typical. A bit richer and heavier than real "Old World" Pinot. Readily approachable and smooth with minimum tannins and oak, with just enough acidity to keep things honest. Ripe blue fruit finish.

nose: very light, but at least fruit; palette: mix of mostly dry fruit and a little oak with a slightly burnt finish

Short finish, I wouldn't say smooth. One of the better cheap pinot noirs.
